Record Call Levels

Our free legal advice line has been busier than ever this year, in 2008 we received 2,500 calls, an increase on the previous year's call levels.  We estimate that this will increase again in 2009 to approximately 3,000 contacts for our services. This demonstrates the ever-increasing demand for our service, and shows the growing interest in children’s rights and the law.  Our expertise and impartial advice on all aspects of Scottish child law are much-valued by children, young people, parents, carers and professionals including teachers, social workers and health professionals.  The advice line is now open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm.  You can call us on 0131 667 6333, and under 18s call free on 0800 328 8970 or use our free text service text 'SCLC' and your query to 80800.

School Visits

The Centre is aiming to carry out visits to schools throughout Scotland to inform children of their legal rights and responsibilities. We have carried out a visit to Larbert High Schools which proved to be very popular. We met with over 200 young people. We are currently trying to raise funds to carry out more visits. Any Donations to assist in carrying out this work would be greatly appreciated.
