What about making sure that the place is safe for me to work in?

All workplaces are supposed to be safe and must have written health and safety policies if there are more than 5 employees. You can ask to see them if you want to. Before taking someone under 16 for work experience the workplace should do a health and safety assessment and tell you about any risks involved in your work. You should also be told about what you can do to control these risks. If you are under 16 your parents/carers should be told about this assessment.

IMPORTANT STUFF!

It is very important that you should follow your workplace’s health and safety rules during your placement. If you don’t the workplace may ask you to leave if they think you are taking risks or putting other people in danger.
